Despite a relatively large number of bugs and occasional outdated visuals, Rogue Trader remains a fantastic and massive RPG that is a clear must-play for all fans of the 41st millennium. It shouldn't be missed by enthusiasts of grim narratives and intricate turn-based combat either. Rogue Trader is filled with epic moments, decisions that shape the fate of entire star systems, and brutal rawness that makes delving into the world of Warhammer and the God-Emperor worthwhile.
Despite any flaws, in whatever gameplay area they might be found, Rogue Trader was undoubtedly created by people with passion and knowledge of the setting and lore, who sought to create an excellent Warhammer RPG and, for the most part, they succeeded.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a great PC role-playing game that offers an exciting story, interesting characters and exciting gameplay. The game is sure to appeal to fans of Warhammer 40,000 and fans of role-playing games.
I had low expectations at the beginning but the game threw me of my chair. This is the most immersive RPG I have played in 2023. Story is interesting, your role in the setting is original, world is huge and diverse, battle is fun and character progression is natural. So far I have played 60+ hours and it was a 60 hours of joy.
If you’re a 40K fan or just looking for a combat-heavy RPG outside of the normal fantasy fare, Rogue Trader will make a welcome addition to your library. It dives deeper into the setting and lore than any other video game to date, showing that it’s clearly a game by fans, for fans. Owlcat gave us multiple Pathfinder RPGs - hopefully, we’ll see more adventures in the Koronus Expanse in the future as well.
With the great amount of love for the setting that was poured into the game evident from every line of dialogue and every little detail, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is one of the best games based on the universe created by Games Workshop, and a solid tactical turn-based role-playing game that can provide hundreds of hours of fun. However, while the lack of innovation isn't a major setback thanks to its high-quality campaign, the presence of bugs and frustrating mechanics prevents it from being a must-have for all RPG enthusiasts, limiting its appeal beyond Warhammer 40,000 and Owlcat Games fans.
Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader is an excellent title for those looking to dabble their strategic toes into an ocean of lore. Mixing different factions from the franchise with a deep character customization menu creates a fulfilling and immersive experience. It may be difficult to get into at first, but with enough time and reading you'll be commanding the battlefield like a champion of the God Emperor himself!
Absolutely LOVING This Proper CRPG in the Warhammer 40,000 Universe. Rogue Trader has EVERYTHING I love in Great CRPG's, Significant Dialogue and Skill-based Choices. Consequences to actions and branching narrative Story.
The Graphics are beautiful in their 4K Splendor that I play at and I love being able to Rotate the Camera and Zoom to see the action up close and personal.
Can't Recommend Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader enough as a Great CRPG. Enjoy!
I like the game, played a lot of it in Alpha and Beta
However the one thing that really bothers me is the voice acting.
Some lines are voice acted then the next second they aren't this to me feels inconsistet
Other than that the game is a lot of classic CRPG fun in the Warhammer Universe
If your either a fan of the genre or a fan of the setting go for it you won't regret it
It's okay. Just...okay.
It doesn't rise to the standard established by BG3 but it's okay if you enjoy CRPGs AND it's a Warhammer game to boot. If you played BG3 and wanted to have your mind blown again, you will be disappointed.
I would recomend players to wait few weeks or even few months until Owlcat fixes bugs and issues. Expecially in chapters 4 -5. Still some very serious bugs in the launch version. Otherwise - pretty standard old school CRPG with limited voiceacting and visuals.
Bugged as hell. It's NOT a finished game, you can lock your entire progression at chapter 1 and it get worst and worst...
The game WOULD be a good game without all these bugs everytime and everywhere. I can deal with some bugs and problems it's OK, no game is perfect. But you got literally : godmod infinite turns without even trying, black screen if you dont disable some options in some event in the warp, block your progression if you pick the wrong dialog option, and wait for chapter 4, when you THINK you have done the worst, then the real nightmare start... Can't explain without heavy spoilers but it's a literal shame to do these kind of behavior toward the players, launching a game NOT finished is NOT acceptable and the video game industry HAVE to know it's not normal anymore.
If you love WH40K or CRPG, buy it in 6 month for 20 bucks on steam get some mods for interface and you should enjou this game. Maybe.
