Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Fatshark

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a bloody, cooperative shooter developed by the team at Fatshark. It takes place in the dystopian city of Tertium, which has been overrun by corrupted individuals — and it's your job to reclaim the urban jungle and stop a mysterious new force from taking control of its streets.

Warhammer 40,000 had a loaded release schedule throughout 2022, with both Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters and Shootas, Blood & Teef launching ahead of Darktide. But without a doubt, Darktide was the most anticipated of the trio — and it didn't disappoint. The game pulled in an impressive Metascore thanks to striking graphics, violent gameplay, and impressive replayability, and fans of cooperative adventures should find hundreds of hours of gory action in the latest 40K outing.

Besides frantic combat and the enrapturing setting of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Darktide gives you a surprisingly deep RPG system to tinker with, making it easy to customize your character to your playstyle. Not only can you change skills or upgrade weapons, but you can also alter your in-game appearance. And like any good cooperative game, there's a dynamic system that alters your mission to ensure no two runs every play out exactly the same.

As fun as Darktide is, there are plenty of other cooperative shooters worthy of your time. This includes other titles in the Warhammer library such as Vermintide 2, along with such big names as Deep Rock Galactic and Back 4 Blood.

Here are 10 games like Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to play next, listed by Metascore.

The narrative revolves around the invasion of an Imperial Forge World, and it'll be up to Titus to repel the invasion and unravel a mystery that's more terrifying than it first seems. Space Marine still looks great despite launching more than a decade ago, and its visceral third-person combat makes it an excellent alternative to Darktide.
