THE FINALS is some of the most fun I’ve had with a first-person shooter in years. The impressive technology that enables real-time destruction on such a scale creates a playground that’s joyous to experiment with and rewards creativity. With a core gameplay loop that stands solid and a decent foundation to build upon, Embark Studios is all set to support a shooter that can finally rival the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield.
A well-crafted shooter with excellent fundamental skills and unique enjoyment. With a solid foundation, it holds promise for a long-lasting service, but addressing cheat users and making commitments to robust operation are essential.
this game is very good, perfect optimization, excellent dynamics and many other advantages that can be listed forever, but there are a couple of disadvantages, namely: the lack of Russian language and the lack of a normal training mode/closed matches/custom matches with bots, but I hope that sooner or later there will be them will add
THE FINALS has room to improve, but it shines in all the ways that matter. If you're keen on a new first-person shooter that mixes chaos with strategy in a sleek package, it's worth a look.
For now, The Finals is the most exciting multiplayer shooter launch I've played in years. It's a clever blend of old-fashioned generosity and new-fangled technology, and it's exciting enough at its core to offer delight and drama no matter your unlocks or skill level. I'm going to play it right now.
It's fun, just needs a lot of fixes & changes, like reducing TTK, reworking classes and weapons, reducing map size and respawn timers, and adding a deathmatch mode.
This is a decent idea, not good, just decent but plagued by many, many small issues that good games have fixed a very long time ago.
The balance is completely non-existent, just as the matchmaking which wil just throw you around to what's very obviously a better or worse match every 2 games. There was overwhelming feedback about classes and during beta and it was completely ignored.
Shooting is OK, movement is slow as the maps aren't that big but the game design makes it feel fast which is one of the few good things it has along with the graphics.
There are no other redeamable qualities to this, having to change the fov to 100 as suggested by developers is not something a released game should have and winning every match because you are a pocket healer or have one is REALLY far away from what anyone would want in a p2p game.
Of course the game will try to make you pay $10 or $20 for a battle pass or useless items at every opportunity even if there's very very little actual content but that's just F2P games.
7 or 8 years ago, this game would've been a solid 6 but it's not 8 years ago and the only thing that it has better than games from that time is that it looks nice.
Any shooter you like at the moment will do something better than this game, it claims to be unique but it's capture the flag with 3 teams of 3.
Whatever you're playing, don't stop playing it for this, if you want to give it a try, you'll get a vey average experience enough to sink 2 hours and quickly forget everything about the Finals.
The game is OK but the matchmaking is trash. It often puts you alone in a team right from the start of the game then punishes you for leaving or afking
