The Walking Dead: Destinies would have been a fitting release a decade ago during the peak of the series’ popularity, ironically, the game plays as if it belongs to that era too. You’ll quickly tire of the repetitive mission structure and grow frustrated with the combat system. Although the game claims to allow you to choose the path that Rick and Co. walk, your decisions barely make a difference. Even die-hard fans of the formidable franchise will want to steer clear of this undead adventure due to its dated design and poor execution.
he negative criticisms of 'The Walking Dead: Destinies' are more than deserved—it is an infamous and resource-lacking clone of action-adventure games that fails to engage as an adaptation, with poor graphics, performance, and gameplay.
eu pelo menos gostei joguei do inicio ao fim apesar dos graficos ruins o jogo é divertido é desafiante em varias partes e faz o basico que é ser um jogo de zombie
GameMill Entertainment continues its run of rushed, cheap, utterly contemptuous scam jobs. Yet another game where you can see how the developers at one point hoped to make something good until reality hit them in the face, forcing them to spray some vomit onto storefronts and call it a day...It’s only marginally better than Skull Island: Rise of Kong because I can f.cking laugh at it.
the game follows the series, which is great, I don't mind the weaker graphics, but the bugs that don't allow me to continue are a problem. I had to play the Ps5 version for the PS4 because it's buggy on the ps5. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the game and give it a weak 7/10
The Walking Dead: Destinies takes an interesting concept and fails to deliver on almost all fronts.
The games suffers from severe bugs such as losing sound, clipping through objects, janky frame rate and broken level design. The trailers for the game lead you to believe it’s based on some degree of freedom and that has for the most part been false in my play through of the game. It’s evident from the moment you start the game that the budget was not high for development. Graphics are muddied and not detailed and character models are cheaply made. The voice acting is downright crappy. Most phrases and one liners outside of story elements are downright annoying and over used without any variety.
The game contains no real cutscenes instead featuring a slightly animated slideshow of half baked story moments that looks like it was created with power point. Major characters are left out of mix. The game rushes through the first 2 seasons and continuously disregards elements from the show that are of importance. The HQ/Base management is virtually non existent. There is a mission table/board that allows you to send pre selected characters on “expeditions” that have success or failure. The rewards for these pointless trips are simply experience points. You can collect these in abundance just progressing through a level so it adds no weight to the game. You never get to choose how supplies are used or depleted.
Another pointless feature is settling group arguments/disagreements which offer no bearing on group morale or story progression. It’s literally just there to give you more experience points.
I’ve had to close the game on several occasions to be able to complete a mission/episode due to game breaking bugs. The stealth sections in the game are absolutely atrocious and borderline unplayable. The aiming is clunky and nauseating to the point it made me dizzy. Camera angles are awkward and slow down action sequences at every turn.
I can tell the developers rushed, whether this was due to time restrictions or general laziness it’s abundantly apparent. I tried really hard to enjoy this game. It’s not the worst I’ve ever played but it’s not winning any space on anyone’s top games list .It’s a shame to see The Walking Dead once again get cheated out of a solid game outside of the Telltale series.
Pros - Interesting concept of choosing different outcomes for characters from the tv series.
Cons- Abysmal graphics, terrible voice acting, severe bugs and glitches, non existent cutscenes, terrible sound design, no real choice or freedom, missing plot points and major characters from the tv series.
Verdict: While this isn’t the worst game I’ve played, I can’t recommend this to anyone but the most hardcore The Walking Dead fans, but even then it’s still hard to recommend. If you’re absolutely certain you want to play this game I would wait until the bargain price hits which inevitably will be soon.
Do yourself a favor and don't buy this.
While the concept is really cool, the gameplay is horrible, there's unexplainable slowdowns, the game looks like a free assets collection and plays like first gen PS1 3rd person game...
