It's so exciting to see Clementine growing up and guiding another child just like what Lee used to do. The ending is depressing but with an amazing twist. If you love the series and care about the destiny of Clementine, you can't miss it.
Despite some flaws on the second and third episodes, The Walking Dead : The Finale Season is the ending season all fan could wish for, with many great narrative choices and a message of hope very welcomed in such a game.
Simply amazing, great ending to this franchise that made part of me as a kid, honestly one of the greatest games of all times, making choices in front of a 6 yo and teaching him what's good or bad, even if you want to kill a certain character, you will surely think twice due to being in front of AJ
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - The Final Season is an amazing experience, but there's a second better version of it: The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series, which is not that different, if at all, to the original game, but it includes remastered versions of all the other games in the series.
And so ends one of the best stories ever in gaming. Unfortunately, it also marks the conclusion of Telltale Games' story, along with the game's narrative. The creation of this game was filled with challenges, from Telltale's bankruptcy to the uncertainty after the release of Episode 2. Thankfully, Skybound Games took over and completed it.
In any case, TWD: The Final Season is exactly what it should be, especially after the third season (A New Frontier), which was slightly weaker compared to its first two predecessors. The story is pure gold, and the ending is a true diamond, one that completely took me by surprise. I won't provide too many details to avoid spoilers, but it's worth noting that this final game/season is in line with the quality of the first two in every aspect – story, gameplay, exploration, character control, character development, and more. I must applaud the addition of the over-the-shoulder third-person view in this final game. It's a brilliant addition that works exactly as it should, even though I was skeptical about it before trying it out.
My only criticism would be directed towards a particular scene in the final episode that doesn't make much sense from my perspective, but I won't elaborate further to avoid spoilers.
In any case, I finally felt those typical TWD feelings from Telltale that were somewhat absent in the third season. I don't believe there will ever be a game or a series of games that can evoke the same emotions this series did for me. Thank you Telltale for all the brilliant games. There will be none like you, and nobody will manage to create amazing stories and cinematic experiences as good as yours. Goodbye Clem, you will forever be one of my favorite characters ever made, and goodbye Telltale..!
Telltale’s The Walking Dead might not have invented this style of meaningful narrative adventure, but it certainly popularised it. It is tragic that its popularity led the studio’s leaders to run it into the ground, badly overstretching its staff on endless similar projects from Batman to Borderlands to Minecraft. The circumstances of this final ending are disappointing and unfair. But if The Walking Dead has taught us anything, it’s that things don’t always end well.
A solid ending, a bit rushed, but beautifully written. It doesn’t manage to get away from the bite of the same old formula and technical issues, which tarnish the final result of the game.
Heaven knows we've played thousands of forgettable videogame stories over the years, so perhaps the best tribute we can pay to the departed developer is this: EDGE will remember it. [Issue#332, p.116]
this game is pretty average tbh, gameplay, plot, everything isnt better than in the past chapters. ending is bad, series hasnt really ended, its just awaits for next one
Shame on Telltale. The only thing that this game can get from me is my despite. This is not part of the series, this is trash, this is the game of TLOU level. Still better though, cause it has it's name and better moments and without gameplay gets even.
SummaryAfter years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be Clementine’s chance for a home. But protecting it will mean sacrifice. In this gripping, emotional final season, your choices will define your relationships and determine how Clementine’s story ends.
