It’s quickly becoming my favorite first-person shooter of the year, thanks to its impressive landscape, captivating storyline and fully customizable characters. The short list of negatives pale in comparison its highlights. All and all, Ghost Recon: Wildlands delivers and should easily be a contender for 2017’s best first-person shooter, if not best game. It’s magnificent, unique, and certainly worth your time.
The new game on Ghost Recon series gives us a huge open world full of natural landscapes and missions to complete, unfortunately a lot of its content falls on the same repetitive formula than similar open world games. Besides that, Ghost Recon returns with a deep weapon personalization system, interesting tactical gameplay and tons of fun, especially when you play it on co-op.
I have spent so many hours in this game and I want to say that it is beautiful, I love this open world and I am really happy that this game makes me feel like a real ghost.
Sure, we’d rather they just remastered GRAW 1 and 2, and this is yet another open-world Ubisoft ’em up. But get over the initial deja vu, and lack of GRAWness, and fire this up with your online mates and you’ll get one of the best co-op games on the PS4. A high quality title but one that we reckon will be forgotten a lot sooner than its predecessors. In the meantime though, Wildlands has its hooks in us.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is all over the place in terms of its quality. Some missions are frustrating, the game is not without its technical and design flaws, and its sandbox action can sometimes be repetitive, ludicrous and over-the-top. On the positive side, the game packs a vast amount of missions to keep you busy, features a magnificent open world, and is simply highly entertaining to play - especially cooperatively. Don't go in expecting perfection, but if you're into shooting, sneaking, and driving, Ghost Recon Wildlands is a lot of fun.
For small groups of gamers that play together often, Ghost Recon Wildlands seems like a no-brainer and some of the most fun I’ve had in a video game this year. For any lone wolves out there, however, it offers a less appealing all-round package. Ubisoft has pieced together yet another sprawling sandpit to explore yet nothing stands out as truly inventive or remarkable and moving between provinces felt like I was checking items off a shopping list instead of spearheading the American the drug war. At a time where open world games are starting to push boundaries and transform the genre, Ghost Recon is almost at danger of being left behind.
Ghost Recon Wildlands is a game that is hurt by its own ambition. Its blend of genres results in a game that tries to do everything, yet excels at nothing. The sheer scope of the world makes it impossible to be filled with interesting details, and Ubisoft manages to make the entire country of Bolivia feel boring. Nothing fits together as well as it should, and it all results in one very disappointing package.
Wildlands is a bad fu.king game -- it completely fails at everything it aspires to be. It's a bad co-op game, it's a bad shooter, it's a bad open-world game, and the writing is terrible. At best, the game is boring. At worst, it's frustrating. I suppose the visuals are worthy of some praise, but you can just look at screenshots for free. I cannot recommend Ghost Recon Wildlands to anyone, unless you're directly related to someone on the development team. If that is the case, by all means, support your family! Everyone else: stay away.
This is the most Ubisofty game Ubisoft has ever made. Every open world **** is here. Just imagine yourself doing side content for hours with little reward to do some "main" missions that looks like side content as well so you can finally kill the ruler of such district. Now imagine doing this 20 times. This is the game.
SummaryTaking place a few years into the future, Ghost Recon Wildlands empowers players to lead a team of Ghosts, a four-player U.S. Elite Special Operations unit, on a covert mission to destroy the Santa Blanca drug cartel, an underworld force and growing global threat within Ubisoft’s imagining of a beautiful, yet dangerous Bolivia.
