State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition is a game that I can easily recommend and for me it is one that will last a long time, with the original game, plus expansions in one packages, there are hours and hours of content to enjoy and it is worth every penny.
State of Decay was one of the best Xbox Live Arcade titles to grace the 360 during its ten year life span and arguably one of the console’s best games full stop. This new updated edition is a step in the right direction.
State of Decay has everything you could ever imagine in a zombie game, and than some. But, it still plays and feels like an Xbox Live Arcade game. Thankfully, at around $30, it’s priced like one too.
While it never truly feels like it reaches its full potential or the promise Undead Lab’s ideas hold for the genre, State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition is still a fun, fascinating take on the tradition of zombie-apocalypse games that’s worth playing for hardcore fans.
Do to its popularity, Microsoft decided to bring one of their famous zombi games called State of Decay to the Xbox One. Besides the new improvements in terms of resolution and frame rate, this version of the game is more like an eye candy because still continues with the same flaws we saw a couple of year ago.
State of Decay could be the ultimate zombie experience and in some
ways it actually is. Unfortunately a ton of of technical issues and
game-breaking bugs hampers the experience a great deal. It is a shame
that the developer did not even try to fix the shortcomings that the
Xbox 360 version suffered from.
If I found myself describing the game to friends as the game I wanted it to be more than the game it was, it's because the "ideal" version of State of Decay is intoxicating.
State of Decay for Xbox One has its ups and downs. While the atmosphere, the gameplay and the RPG aspects work perfectly, the graphics and story are really bad. If you want to play an interesting and entertaining game and you can overlook the flaws, you get a cool zombie survival action RPG!
I'm wwaaaaaayyy late to the punch on this one but I only purchased an Xbone S last week, so I am working on all of my back log games now and State of Decay was one of those. State of Decay's concept seemed really great to me even in a time where the zombie thing has been way over done. That said, I'm super happy I gave this game a chance despite some super frustrating bugs, though few and far between can be quite a hindrance. More than once I was out on a supply run getting some really good stuff and then the game would crash and I would lose all progress. This happened 3 times of that magnitude, and another 2 when it didn't really matter all that much. Thankfully though, State of Decay gave me plenty of reasons to keep playing. Combat is real simple, but quite fun really. It reminded me a bit of Dying Light. Stamina is a huge factor and also knowing your limits when it comes to facing several zombies at a time. Go out alone or bring someone from you group of survivors to help you scavenge supplies, searching for new survivors to add to your roster, or just doing main story missions. What I thought was really cool was being able to switch to different characters with different stats. If you have been using one character he/she can get tired, effectively draining your usable stamina, so it is a good idea to switch to other characters to give your favorites a chance to rest. I have always been of the mind that graphics matter very little next to gameplay but I could see why graphics would be important to some people and in that respect State of Decay might frustrate you. Keep in mind though State of Decay was a 360 game ported to the Xbone. It is not a remaster. From what I understand the game runs a little better on the xbone but this is not a remaster, so you may want to keep some expectations in check. If you haven't played this one yet check it out. It is a lot cheaper now since it has been out a while and it may yet surprise you.
just unother peace of crap port graphic are crap.framerate is crap textures are crap game is crap.they just keep making ports that are not worth the money don't buy ths game.
