Shredders is a beautiful snowboarding simulation title. Take to the mountain, wow the crowd, and get an invite to the kick-ass event. Fantastic solo, but better with friends! Pull off some gnarly tricks and be one with the snowy wilderness.
If you're a snowboard fan who likes games like 1080 and SSX this is a must-buy. It feels like the first Snowboard game since then to recapture the fun and excitement of the genre.
The best part of the game are the controls, despite what the review bombers say. It has natural, intuitive controls that are easy to use, and difficult to master. It will take some practice and patience to learn the harder tricks, but once it clicks it's extremely fun and addicting to play. This game feels like it was made with passion by snowboard enthusiasts.
Performance optimizations are needed, the UI can be cleaned up, and the voice acting is bad and cannot be muted. However, the core gameplay is awesome and with diligent updates Shredders stands to be the greatest snowboard game of all time.
Rating 10/10 to counter the 0/10 review bombers.
Finally someone nails the gameplay aspect in a snowboarding game. It’s not perfect game but the best snowboard sim since supreme snowboarding some 20 years ago. Hope you polish this gem and keep it alive
Shredders is an enjoyable game if you temper your expectations. The campaign is quite good and comes in at just the right length while also providing some incentive to return and complete all of the challenges for each mission. Free roam mode is fine if you can forgive some of the performance hitches and inability to do much with others in a structured setting. The controls are good, but you'll lament the game momentarily forgetting about its momentum system. The relaxed feeling of snowboarding without restrictions makes things enjoyable. It makes for a perfect game for Xbox Game Pass and a decent purchase for those starved for a purely snowboarding-focused game.
Shredders is a fun, straightforward dive into the world of snowboarding, with mostly great controls and movements, and plenty of real-world influences. Some rough edges and often poor performance are all that hold this title back.
Shredders is a peculiar work full of contradictions. If its narrative, crazy, hilarious and embellished by the participation of some snow stars is as fresh as snow, his good gameplay (inspired by Steep) must clash with a disastrous technical performance. Still a game worth trying, especially on Game Pass.
Shredders has a lot of potential and can be fun, but it needed a few extra months of development to improve some key aspects and fix some annoying bugs.
There’s still room for a big snowboarding game in today’s video game landscape, but Shredders isn’t able to fill it. While it looks nice when you’re not moving, issues with performance, controls, mission design, voice acting, story, nearly every aspect of this game is flawed. So value your time and wait for the next title in the genre.
Solid snowboarding game, in a genre that doesn't appear to have much right now. Graphics were good, controls remind me of Skate, but maybe not as sharp. Still a good game.
