I can’t judge Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition on how well it matches up with its predecessors. What I can do, however, is judge Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition on how much fun it is – and by that metric, I can’t imagine a more enjoyable game.
Overall though I continue to find the Shadow Warrior games a lot of fun… it’s nice to have a different main character to the muscle bound blond balls of brawn we are usually provided. Lo Wang is the hero we don’t deserve… but he’s all we’ve got… and it’s a lot of fun playing as him.
Great fps game. I like new approach to finisher mechanic. I also enjoyed boss fights. It is arena like shooter with tons of shooting and action. Deep environmental opportunities during fights.
In all, Shadow Warrior 3 is a fun game with a few minor issues that may not even be issues depending on the player. The game is also receiving constant support, with a Definitive Edition next-gen upgraded release that is free to anyone that already owns Shadow Warrior 3 and will be available at a discounted price for anyone interested in the fast-paced combat that Lo Wang specializes in.
Overall, Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition brings more Shadow Warrior 3 to its fans. You know exactly what you get with Shadow Warrior 3: fast-paced combat, wise-cracking jokes, and a pretty streamlined experience. The Definitive Edition gives players more to do and allows them to go back to their favorite parts of the game. In addition, it brings a higher quality of the game to current-gen consoles. As far as Definite Editions go, Shadow Warrior 3 does a solid job in implementation.
Shadow Warrior 3 ends up being just ‘ok’ in the grand scheme of things and especially in comparison to the games around it. Lo Wang deserves better and if the fates will it we will get to hang out with our pal Wang again soon.
While a really fun experience, its lacking environments and incredibly short playtime make this a hard game to recommend at full price. But it most definitely is a game worth playing on sale or if you have it already and want to check out the PS5 or Xbox Series X upgrades. The frustrating combat scenes, simple environments and plain environments make it hard for even Lo Wang to quip into greatness.
As it stands, Shadow Warrior 3 is a fine game, and the Definitive Edition will be a welcome upgrade to owners of the original console versions, but it only manages to meet expectations while also running it under a track of abrasive banter. It’s like playing skeeball while the fire alarms keep going off. It’s not a bad way to spend your time, but you might be happier if you went and found out what’s burning.
A high octane fps that delivers a ton of fun. So much better then sw2. A great soundtrack as well although the audio pops out occasionally when the action really gets going. The first one still has the best story, but this one is just a pure blast from start to finish. Also the collector in me is very happy that they released a hard copy. Great game.
Was also really impressed with the production value in this game the visuals especially look great.
I absolutely loved this game.
I played it through Xbox Game Pass and let me tell you that this is one of the best experiences I had in Game Pass.
In 2020 I played Shadow Warrior 2 and i liked it very much, that's why I was so anxious to put my hands on this one. When we compare one to another, the main difference here is that Shadow Warrior 3 is fully linear, and Shadow Warrior 2 isn't.Shadow Warrior 2 scenarios were more open, what allows the player to flee around and get far from the enemies when he needs.
Shadow Warrior 3 breaks that barrier and puts you on a closer space, that feels more claustrophobic, which means that the action is way more ****, you can still flee around when you need to, specially with the help of the new grapling hook mechanic, that works perfectly with this tighter approach.
The scenarios are just beautiful. And I mean ALL OF THEM. They are gorgeous, and everyone is different with different color schemes.
The story isn't that great, but still engages you to the point where you want to see that problem solved.
The gameplay is where this game really shines.I talked already about the grapling hook mechanic, so I won't get too much in detail on **** variety of weapons that the game gives you on his course it's just amazing. Each weapon is unique, and it helps you to fight certain enemies, depending on the range that you are shooting from. Each weapon feels amazing to play, since the simple revolver to the mega grenade launcher, or the shotgun. You make your combat the way you want too.
I played the game on normal difficulty, and for me it was more than balanced. Sometimes i ran out of ammo, and i had to dodge consequently until the ammo beacon respawned.
For me it was a solid experience, and i can't wait to play more games from Flying Hog Dog!
Now, it's time for Weird West
Great fps game. I like new approach to finisher mechanic. I also enjoyed boss fights. It is arena like shooter with tons of shooting and action. Deep environmental opportunities during fights.
The good :
- good optimization
- good graphics
- frantic action.
- good weapons choice.
The bad :
- childish humor
- uninteresting story
- a Doom Eternal clone
- chi power useless.
The ugly :
- no manual saves
- in a few places, forced to restart at the beginning if death : very frustrating.
- very repetitive.
I did not end the game because of the frustration generated by being forced to start again and again a few difficult places from the beginning.
