Scorn is a special experience for anybody looking to have their expectations subverted for what a good horror game can be. It is a gory, surreal, provocative dive into difficult or even taboo topics, and is wonderfully crafted, and near perfectly optimized. The game’s themes and visuals are challenging and extremely mature, but executed with great subtlety. The game is a technical marvel and concise as any horror game should be, so as to not overstay its welcome.
Scorn reminds me a lot of what Agony was trying to go for when it released – a fresh new experience through a nightmarish setting. With Scorn though, it arrived very playable with only a few issues, unlike the tragedy that we experienced with Agony. Horror fans should definitely give Scorn a try. Scorn is an experience like no other horror game and every horror fan needs to support this great effort.

Scorn is a survival horror shooter puzzle game and it uses each of those elements in its own mold.
Scorn is the classic case of a brilliant idea, diligently implemented which then lacks much of the content to be savored and enjoyed. The settings are excellent and cause great anguish, and the adventure around the exploration of these carnal and biomechanical tunnels is fantastic, but the shooting phases are faulty, the puzzles are repetitive and in some cases fillers, for a project with little longevity. Having put the nearly eight years of development on the table, it was reasonable to expect something more.
Scorn is a haunting journey through an alien world that asks a lot from players, both through its striking imagery and some smartly designed, unique puzzles.
Scorn is an art house experience. I’m sure that other reviewers will plumb “Scorn” for its hidden high-minded commentary on the human condition, but for me, the appeal of the game is how it made me feel rather than think. I felt a constant, humming anxiety for simply existing in its macabre world. I was never particularly scared of anything I encountered; like the playable creature, I just wanted out.
Finishing Scorn does not leave players with a sense of satisfaction; it's not scary and it's not fun. Most will be glad that it's over, and at least it's mercifully short. It only takes about five hours to beat Scorn, and our playthrough ended with us earning 11 out of 12 of the game's achievements. Scorn gives players absolutely no reason to return to it, and quite frankly, it doesn't offer much reason to play it even once.

Какое атмосферное визуальное оформление, этот стиль ….. просто великолепно, а если бы не оптимизировали графику и дали возможность включать более четкие текстуры и использовать RT, было бы просто невероятно. А что же сама игра? Неплохое приключение жаль, что короткое, приятные, не сложные головоломки, странная и, пожалуй, ненужная, в таком виде, стрельба, но, нет подсказок и это замечательно, и атмосфера, такая чужая и непонятная, что это просто – фантастика. Такие игры крайне редки и от того, остаются в памяти как новый неизведанный опыт, а это здорово.

Scorn is a game that tries to be more than just a walking simulator by including puzzles and truly frustrating combat. While the visuals and atmosphere is quite good, and the story is generally well thought through, the gameplay takes away from all of this by being menial and not allowing the player to interact with the environment as much as could be achieved.
