I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked playing NBA Live 19. The core basketball game and its various modes offer plenty of chances to have a fun basketball experience. The new animation system makes action on the court look and act more realistic than ever, and a robust training mode gives plenty of opportunity to improve. Unfortunately, lifeless, canned commentary and little in the way of capturing the feel of basketball culture holds NBA Live 19 back. In the world of basketball games, it’s the Eastern Conference to 2K’s Western Conference – good, but at the end of the season, the odds are heavily in the opponent’s favor.
10/10! This Game Is So Much Better Than 2K In Many **** Ways! First Of All, It’s Graphics Are Wonderful, Second! The Myplayer Is Very Great In My Opinion! NBA Live Is Way Better Than 2K! I Don’t Wanna Here People Say That This Game Is Trash Because It’s NOT!
NBA Live 19 is a good episode for the franchise with an immersive and fun gameplay. The game is pleasant and easy to handle, but the formula lacks of realism, gameplaywise, and the Career mod still needs some work to be a great success.
There are many things to appreciate in this year’s installment of NBA Live. The addition of mixed gender rosters, female created players, the introduction of Court Battles, and the new commentary team all help the game keep pace with their previous improvements. It is not going to raise the quality bar anytime soon, but they’ve managed to deliver an authentic NBA experience. If you’re looking for a solid alternative to 2K’s offering, look no further.
NBA Live 19 is slowly closing the gap with NBA 2K19 the giant. The game chose a more spectacular path, more fun to basketball fans and it's pretty successful.
NBA Live 19 is currently chasing NBA 2K19 as far as relevance is concerned, but it's also paving a path all its own. Live’s addition of real streetball/pro-am courts, leagues like Dykman and Drew League, as well as the WNBA presence are a welcome addition to the hoops simulator world. With improved gameplay mechanics, a future version of NBA Live could actually compete for the crown.
NBA Live 19 is an admirable attempt at snatching the NBA video game throne, but ultimately it fumbles. While there are a number of quality of life improvements in the career mode, it drops the ball in too many areas. Even diehard fans will be hard pressed to find many improvements to the series’ gameplay compared to entries from a decade ago.
This is for The One only, and all I really play is Live run which is basically Pro-am/Park.
It's just soooo much better than 2k. The Park is a stupid concept overall. No VC, perfect grinding time, balanced gameplay.
Surprisingly good game with a few flaws. The P2W is kept at a minimum, the animations look good and it's fun when you're playing, however the game lacks content, the commentary is terrible, and in the one mode (nba live's version of my career) you probably spend more time clicking through menus and watching loading screens than you do actually playing basketball. Also jumpshooting is bizarre, the shot meter doesn't really make sense.
This game improved from NBA Live 18 but it's still not what can be called a great basketball game. There are many redundant animations which make the gameplay annoying, sometimes you can't get your player even to look to the rim and so you are behind the arc dribbling in place being turned against the board so you can't shoot like that. There are all kinds of small issues like this. It was a good change but not enough. Hopefully they improve it way more to another whole new level on next gen consoles in 2021, NBA live 22.
All they need to do is eliminate all the small issues so it's fun and feels good to control and play.
If you play this games for the franchise mode this is just a disaster ****. The gameplay itself is frustrating with it just not being responsive, but it works, barely. But the presentation is awful, you can't even skip cut scenes through the game, it makes it a slog. The options in franchise mode are laughable, you don't even get the players from the 2019 draft, trading is a chore, the UI is horrendous, etc. I just bought this because it was on sale and heard bad reviews of 2K but this is just unplayable for me. I uninstalled after three games of franchise mode, and I'm not looking forward to my next EA game at all. I score it a 4 because of the passable gameplay and because other people might like other modes.
gameplay, animations and player movement are pretty decent but very lacking of improvements and lacking of new features in Franchise Mode.. The One is not my thing to play. graphic look good but player model look okay
