If you're a Halo fan, you've probably already pre-ordered and purchased this game and thankfully the game more than lived up to its hype. Even if you have never played a Halo game before, it's still one of the best first person shooters on any console.
343 Industries delivers one the best Halo games ever created thus proving that this studio is perfectly capable of handling Microsoft's legendary franchise.

Great story (master chief is not just a covenant killer machine) , game play is awesome Lodout system for multiplayer is bad idea but at the end halo4 is a upgrade for franchise I Don't know why some people hate this masterpiece for like runing ability?!? Halo 4 is perhaps the best-looking Xbox games out there. While as a first person shooter Halo 4 isn't breaking any new ground, 343 Industries has done a terrific job retaining the classic Halo gameplay. The Prometheans are a bit of a let down, but luckily the Covenant hasn't been forgotten. While I enjoyed the new Reclaimer storyline, the touchy-feely stuff between Master Chief and Cortana feels a bit forced and awkward. Unsurprisingly the multiplayer is great fun, though the matchmaking could use a little speed-up. [Nov 2012]
343's attempts at endowing this carefully constructed husk of a protagonist with psychological depth are predictably timid.
343 Industries succeeds in evolving the franchise and prepares it for the next generation of consoles. After Halo 4 we feel very confident about the future: the series is in good hands.
The new Halo from 343 Industries is a big step in the right direction. There's no revolution to talk about, but there is some fresh air being pumped into this series. There aren't enough unique new things to bow down to the developers, but Halo 4 provides loads of fun. If you're an old fan, you'll be very pleased. If you're against Halo - it's a great opportunity to give the series another chance. Halo 4 is not the best installment in the franchise, but definitely is the most atmospheric and varied one.
A shiny old dog without any new tricks. I got more out of the Halo 1 remake, which at least had the appeal of nostalgia. Playing through an updated version of the original Halo was at times tired or tedious. But it was also a reminder of the raw genius that launched the series. There is none of that in Halo 4, which is a drawn-out retread without any fresh perspective or energy, and furthermore missing a lot of what I need to pull me through a Halo game. Halo 4 demonstrates that if there's one thing worse than more of the same, it's less of the same.
I basically never use this site but this is one of those games that are so good that you gotta talk about it.
This game deserves more attention and ever since I played it its been my favourite in the series.
(What do you mean, "12 years late"? shut up no one cares, just buy the game)

O jogo teve uma queda considerável de qualidade comparado a seus antecessores, a história eu achei confusa e não MT interessante, os gráficos e a gameplay são bons, mas o jogo é muito linear e não passa o mesmo felling dos outros Halo.

While this game certainly has some major flaws, some aspects of the game are truly amazing. The game still looks amazing, and has a great story. The multiplayer is poorly designed, and the Promethean enemies are awful to fight, but many great new weapons and vehicles were introduced, and the game overall is solid.

Halo, What a great series! I feel in love with Halo for it's story, music and solid FPS gameplay.
It's similar to Half-life in that way. A Great FPS story-driven game.
Sadly, 343i decided to throw the story out of the window.
The plot in Halo 4 is there to justify the visuals and that's it. it's contrived and lazy.
It doesn't respect Halo lore that came before it. It a sad day when something you love becomes a cash cow. (Looking at you SW: Force Awakens).
Halo 4 is a beautiful game, can't take that away, sure. BUT it falls flat on it's face in every other aspect.
Adding sprint and crouch doesn't count as innovative gameplay.
It's the worst kind of action flick. It goes for dazzling beauty with big "epic" scenes with little sense.
The campaign which is the main reason Halo is such an awesome beloved series is the weakest part of this game.

*Doesn't take a genius to see that most 9-10 reviews are simply fan-boys. some would even say the campaign/story isn't that good but still give it a 10.
