Fresh out of Steam Early Access, Eastern Exorcist delivers fantastic visuals, exhilarating combat, and a fascinating story. However, bland level design dulls the experience a bit.
Game is good. It's good to try this game.
I like this art design, it's amazing with chinese style. Cutscene is also impressive with this style.
About gameplay, combat system is good, simple but with my feeling, some bosses is not too hard for soul-like game.
Eastern Exorcist has a solid foundation, and launching in early access is definitely to its benefit. The game has some localization issues, as some key item descriptions were completely left untranslated from Chinese, which I couldn’t read (sorry dad). However, that didn’t impede me from progressing. With a bit of tweaking to its combat and polishing up on its localization, Eastern Exorcist can be an even better experience.
Eastern Exorcist is brisk and engaging. Despite a few rough points, the combat is solid, the world is beautifully rendered, and the extremely depressing story is was interesting enough to carry me through to the end. After the credits (which are entirely in Chinese, just FYI) there’s footage promising DLC or a sequel that’s is already in production, and I’m absolutely interested to see how this franchise moves forward.
Typical modern day game, Looks outta this world with amazing visuals, gameplay itself is pretty good, 2-d side scrolling hack and slash, with a stamina bar to contend with.
However I'm about one hour in and I still feel like I'm in the tutorial section... Text boxes on screen, explaining how to **** eggs... Why do game devs feel the need to explain the basics of gaming while leaving the things that should be in the tutorials out???
Explaining how to jump with a highly intrusive text box isn't needed, but if you feel to reinvent the wheel and call 'health pick ups' something like 'zen blessings' then this is something I need (or would like to) know.
OVERALL. It's a good game, a really good one but PLEASE can I skip all the silly egg **** lessons that games now have, they have ruined many a good game.
After playing the full/updated game I can honestly say it's not worth the hassle if you are not into the roguelike - sekiro kind of games . The difficulty keeps going upwards as you progress and you have to only focus on one skill tree if you want to barely succeed.
Game felt like a chore , shame because the combat was pretty good but the difficulty setting and the stamina gauge really put me off this game for good.
