I absolutely loved Crysis 2 from start to finish. The game looks amazing, sounds amazing and plays like a dream. The singleplayer campaign was a satisfying 10 hours and left me wanting to play it again at a higher difficulty setting. Multiplayer borrows a few ideas from other games but overall is a unique and highly enjoyable experience even if it does force you to put in the time to get the most out of it.
Crysis 2 takes the ideas and technological prowess of the first game and focuses them into a multifaceted experience that encourages you to go to town with its tactics and physicality. The nanosuit is what defines the Crysis 2 experience, and once you get familiar with its features, it feels as natural as a second skin.
After playing Crysis 2 for 20+ hours in the span of just two days, I'm still not sick of the game. Crysis 2 is a riveting first-person shooter I highly recommend to fans of the genre, as well as those looking for something to showcase the might of their 3DTV. It ain't perfect, but Crysis 2 has plenty to offer both fans of multiplayer and gamers who prefer a well-crafted solo campaign.
Fantastic visuals, fast combat and clever nanosuit mechanics more than compensate for some linear level design, a mediocre story and unvaried enemy design. It's not as good as the first game in the series, but it's a great shooter nonetheless.
The technical achievements don't come without a cost, and the game world still lacks personality, but this is still a first person shooter of impressive talents.
I don't mean to say that Crysis 2 isn't competent. It is. It's a perfectly bog-standard, uninspired, derivative, middle-of-the-road, ultimately incomprehensible, attractive enough, buy-it-used-if-you-must shooter that no one will remember by summer.
Crysis 2 has everything going for it, that it falls far short of initial expectations, due to once again a poor execution and storying tell sequences. Crysis 2 is a Power House and the games price is worth the admission just to look at the stunning visuals. I will start by saying I hated the "abilities" given to the player especially the camouflage, A action, first person shooter dose not require stealth. There were a few boring missions where this ability played a huge role making me extremely frustrated towards the end of the game. I will however give the game 2 points for exciting action scenes and excellent alien AI, which made for some interesting battles. Its a shame such a wonderful premise as failed to capture gamers in which could of been a game of the generation. Crysis 2 has turned into a play once never to see again game. I would only recommend a rent at best.
There's no accounting for taste but come on! Sure this can be fun at times but when you turn invisible and the enemy suddenly stop looking for you and you just keep repeating the same old camo and kill routine its time to admit that its not great.
The first Crysis was far better as the enviroments were more open world and obviously it was a new concept. The urban setting is getting old and is quite boring.
Graphics are nothing to write home about. Anyone who plays PC games too will not be impressed by them. Disappointing on the whole, I traded it in quickly having grinded half way through and finally decided there are better games to be playing.
