Look, it's really simple, Burnout Paradise Remastered is essential for fans of racing games everywhere. They just don't make them like this anymore (but they really, really should).
Anyone looking to smash through the game’s 705 shortcuts, billboards and jumps is a true glutton for punishment, but Burnout Paradise was never made to test players’ skills — it was made to be an escape, which is why the poor difficulty curve is so forgivable. It will always be a pleasure to return to the warm sun and speedy shenanigans of strangers in this familiar place, even if just for a few minutes.
Remastered or not, since the original release it's one of the best video games (not just racing games) out there. Driving felt perfect and the music tracks were a perfect fit for this game, especially the opening music that plays on each launch of the game as a first track to be played in the current session. Among the highlights one can mention full 24h day-night cycle (a very cool feature that adds to the atmosphere). In case you didn't know this, there's an openable menu to select an option to restart a race (funny how some people complained about the lack of this option). In the end, the game succumbed to ageing, so don't expect (in the modern era) the full glamour this game once had. The score goes to honour the experience I had, my favourite game until I played Hollow Knight (which was later replaced by a different game as my favourite). This game is a testament to what EA used to be and to what EA used to mean for dinosaurs like me.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is an excellent racing game made by Criterion games and I'm very pleased that i got to play and revisit the game once again I haven't played the game in almost 10 years the open world is huge with over 200 Miles of open road the dlc comes with the game from the Party DLC to the Big Surf Island DLC for free the game is currently on discount on PS4/PS5 right now I highly recommend buying it!
Burnout Paradise comes to the current console generation to deliver one of the best arcade driving experiences around. This remastered version does not make for a huge difference, but the game is still a sure bet, even 10 years after its release.
After ten years, Burnout Paradise comes back from where it left itself. Online services are back online and there are plenty of players, to have fun like back in the day. Burnout Paradise Remastered is a charming piece for all the arcade race lovers.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is an enjoyable revisit to one of the best arcade-style racers of the era. For PS4 owners who may have missed out or want to go back to Paradise City, this is the package for you.
It may not be the ground-up remake that other modern classics have been treated to, but this is still a superb open-world racing game that feels like it’ll be loved by fans of the original as well as new players jumping in for the very first time. It may sound cliched, but they simply don’t make them like this any more.
A paradox. Equipped with a purring, powerful new under-the-hood upgrade, the game delivers a pure driving experience that is on-par with many of its contemporaries in the looks and feel department. Unfortunately, it’s also running on well-worn tires. Some of the quirks, acceptable in 2008, haven’t been ironed out, and the game can feel sparse and comparatively tiny when scaled against later titles.
I love arcade racing action but I was really shocked about this bad remaster. On PS4 Pro it still looks like a PS3 game, it completely feels like a PS3 game ... just the 60 FPS are nice, but related to the poor graphics it is nothing special about this. 4K optimization looks really bad for what could be possible, HDR is missing at all. One of the very few racing games I have sold instantly.
If you like such a type of racing game than take a look on Dangerous Driving or Hot Pursuit Remaster, both still aren’t good games but noticeably better than Burnout Remaster.
This review only reflects the improvements since the original and not the game it self, the original game is great that being said here are my pros and cons:
Pros
-Game add better graphics.
-includes all DLCs that came with the original.
Cons
-They actually removed the wheel support they had for the previous game
-Graphics are set and non-customizable.
What would had made this remaster great could have been adding VR, more graphics settings for the enthusiast, porting the whole game with support for wheel, creating new content or allowing the game to be modded. If you have it on PS3 don't buy it, if you don't and don't own a wheel you should buy it.
