In what it proposes, F1 23 is virtually perfect. Keeping the graphic strength and refinement of mechanics that worked well in the previous game, it brought back a narrative mode that, along with an interface overhaul and quality of life, only improves what was already amazing.
EA Sports and Codemasters deliver another great outing oft he F1-series. F1 23 deliver tons of gameplay- thanks to the addition of Braking Point 2 and F1 World. Longtime-F1-players will be disappointed due to the lack of new features in the career-mode however.
F1 2023 is great, the breaking point 2 is a great story mode and am looking forward to future with this mode yes they have put in a f1 version of FUT but even that mode is good very good f1 this year
The new benchmark for the Codemasters saga? F1 23 via the breath of EA Sports releases the best vintage in terms of content for the license, especially thanks to the addition of the F1 World mode. Even if you are not really well guided towards the latter, it will fill many hours of your time with its many well-renewed challenges and quests. A lack now filled for the Formula 1 saga, which is still going around in circles in the animations and its technical rendering. The 2023 opus is a great gateway to the world of single-seaters, with the bonus of the continuation of Point de Rupture, the rather interesting Drive to Survive scenario.
It may not be remembered as one of the best titles in the series, but F1 23 has many arrows to its bow. From the driving model to the red flags, Codemasters has made an effort to make its simulation more accessible and fun without distorting its soul too much. The return of Braking Point mode is appreciable, while the addition of the F1 World hub is ideal for those looking for a quick challenge and who like to race online. Graphics, AI, and Career mode are aging badly and needing a refresh.
F1 23 is a good evolutionary step forward for the series. The returning Braking Point story mode offers an enjoyable narrative with mixed up racing challenges, while F1 World brings together solo challenges, multiplayer events and car evolution in an interesting, if not yet essential way. The most significant step forward comes with the revised car physics and handling, which can still punish your mistakes, but makes racing without assists far more accessible.
Braking Point 2.0 does offer some solid (if sometimes cringe-inducing) drama, the driving mechanics and presentation continue to impress, and generally, to an outlier, this is one fabulous F1 game. However, resting on your laurels only gets you so far, and F1 23 has failed to move the needle in regards to making F1 games even more compelling than they already are. By all means, pick up and relish another core EA and Codemasters F1 outing, but it's time the series stopped playing it safe and gave us something audaciously new.
As a newcomer to the franchise, I was excited to graduate from my Mario Kart days to some real racing that I could sink my teeth into. While the overall experience had a couple bumps and hiccups, I've been generally impressed with how fun the game is and how accessible it's been for someone like me.
First, the good. Of all the sports games I've played or experienced, the single-player story/campaign is phenomenal and easily the best in any sports game. The campaign features more of a continuing sequel from a past game but the small video catching me up on the story was precise and clear enough. Characters and plot are incredibly interesting and graphically, facial animations and lighting are some of the most impressive I've ever seen.
The game also features a plethora of different game modes and settings to tinker around with and the UI is decently clear and intuitive enough to figure things out. F1 World game mode particularly is where you'll probably spend most of your time. I was also pleasantly surprised to see a healthy amount of single-player options for racing too since online multiplayer can be a hit or miss depending on my internet's daily attitude.
The inclusion of split-screen local multiplayer too was a nice touch that meant a lot to me and the wife as well. Overall though, what's most fun is the mechanical aspects of the racing itself, which I found to be deep and immersive. The experience would definitely be enhanced if I had a wheel but I've enjoyed my time with a controller anyway.
The entire experience isn't completely perfect though. I did notice some screen tearing during particular cutscenes post-race with crowds and some learning curves to adapt to deeper game/racing mechanics weren't ideal. I would've also preferred a more formal tutorial that helped me learn the absolute basics of the game since I was new.
Overall, my experience has been great and the game is fun, polished, and tightly tuned with loads of stuff to do and plenty of options to try. I'm already 20 hours in and I feel like I just now have scratched the surface. I was able to grab this on sale for $35 but the full retail price is fair enough for the amount of content and game you're getting.
This game if definitely not worth $70. I got bored of the game after a few days since it's so repetitive. I understand that it's a racing game and theres only so much you can expect in terms of gameplay but there should be more game modes or different kinds of cars, otherwise they should't charge such and exorbitant amount of money. The annoying performance issues also didn't help me enjoy the experience any more. The game as a whole just feels like another bland microtransaction filled EA game designed purely to take as much money as possible.
