Throwing out the dour and the drab, Dead Island 2 is all about killing in style. From the beautifully rendered wastelands of HELL-A, to the equally visceral limb destruction system, there’s endless fun to be had here. With enough to do solo or with friends/strangers, not to mention the upcoming expansions, Dambuster Studios have rewritten how to enjoy oneself in the face of Armageddon.
A delightfully gory surprise, Dead Island 2 rises above its hellish development to deliver the sort of horror comedy romp that is rarely seen in the industry. It doesn't break the mould, but it does deliver pure blood-soaked campy joy from start to finish.
Well worth the wait! Simply brilliant game, in pretty much every single aspect - it was a looooooooong wait for it to arrive; but my goodness it surpasses all expectations.
I cannot recommend this highly enough -it's only one of a few games to score 10/10

Dead Island 2 does not fool you into thinking it's another deep virtual drama or an epic RPG. It's simply a great action comedy designed to make you relax, provided you like bloody hordes of zombies.
An essential revamp of the zombie gaming universe, Dead Island 2 packs blood, guts and powerful weapons into brutal gameplay. With many new mechanics and an inviting semi-open world, the game pleases for its fun, but fails to remain in the commonplace of cliches and catchphrases.
Dead Island 2 is very much so a blast from the past. It looks pretty, but it’s a phoned-in first-person action zombie adventure with oddly unpolished combat, horrendous writing, and overly linear stages that lack depth.
Dead Island 2 knows exactly what it is — and you should know it as well before buying. If you really, really love killing zombies in lots of different ways, go on, you'll have a lot of fun. If zombies are just normal enemies for you and you think a game needs more than that in order to work, don't even get close.
Great game from the great publisher Embracer Group B. And the awesome developer deep silver. Graphics are super tripple A. And funny story. Great performance acting. One of the best games from Swedish developer and publisher. Liked Dying light? Walking dead? Then You will love this game
Saying Dead Island 2 is the best game in the franchise is a somewhat low bar to cross. That's like saying an exhaust leak is at least better than a blown transmission. It runs well enough but it still has some problems. I do love how detailed the gore system is. A lot of effort was put into the game's physics and anatomy. That's just about the only long term appeal I see though. It's comically over-the-top gore porn with fortunately less annoying zombies than in the past. The gameplay and combat finally feel somewhat fun and satisfying, but it can only keep you entertained for so long before the experience starts to rot and spoil.
Great action combined with addictive exploration and standout graphics. Unfortunately, the dialog and story are "who cares". Nevertheless, the game does open-world gaming right ; the world aren't too big and it's not stuffed with BS, repetitive quests a la Assassin's Creed. Pay attention Ubisoft.
Lots of bugs, especially in coop mode. Also, cannot fully finish the game, since some journals cannot be picked up anymore. The support for the game is really bad, in 3 months none of the bugs I've reported were fixed, every time receiving an automated response that they are aware of the issues, but cannot give us a timeframe in which they will be fixed.
It's really a shame, because the game looks really good, but seems like it was made by amateurs.
Eight years of waiting and seventy dollars for nothing. The story of the game is very ordinary and the killing of zombies becomes boring after a few minutes. The only positive point of the game is the top graphics.
