There is no denying that The Creator is a major new sci-fi adventure. If you're partial to such things, Edwards' ambitious, immersive film should prompt the intoxicating awe that you might have got from The Matrix and Avatar – the feeling that you're seeing a rich vision of the future unlike any that has been on the big screen before.
The Creator marks the first time, it seems, that the filmmaker stepped out from the shadows of franchises and dipped back into what made him stand out in the first place. He's proven to have a flair for mesmerizing visuals, a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor, and plenty of pathos.

Majestic visuals, a compelling script, and an interesting plot coalesce into a timely film in “The Creator”. It’s funny how vitally important themes and professionally crafted art get completely ignored in this age of insane aggression and inflated egos. This movie failed to deliver at the box office despite falling in line as a status quo Woke production (the male lead is flawed and evil, and must suffer, women are stunning and brave, the girl protagonist is the key to everything, etc etc…).
“The Creator” accurately depicts humanities’ distinct lack of respect for life, the living or even the dead. In this vision of the future, Artificial Intelligence, as mankind’s offspring, inherits emotions, as well as this complete disdain for others, as demonstrated through the callous destruction wrought by all sides during the entire movie. Selfishness as well as a very dubious solidarity abound, leaving the keen viewer uncertain of who to emotionally support. Gareth Edwards can absolutely keep you guessing if one side is more correct than the other, right up to the very end.
In conclusion, “The Creator” challenges you to consider that our prejudice to A.I. may be flawed, while most definitely presenting the defects of mankind. It carries with it a message of hope for a better tomorrow thru an end to violence, and is a movie worth watching and supporting.

The Creator is an original movie too, and even if it is a somewhat convoluted and silly mishmash of familiar tropes and sci-fi cliches, it still evokes the feeling of something fresh, something novel, something exciting to experience and behold — which is so much more than you can say about the vast majority of big budget movies these days.
As pretty as The Creator looks, and however well-considered its world may be, it feels like all sizzle and no steak. AI is an extremely prevalent issue facing us in the real world, but Edwards seems disinterested in exploring beyond its aesthetic surface (e.g. borrowing real people’s voices and likenesses in perpetuity) in favor of a warmed-over critique of American imperialism in the global East.
There are lots of ideas rattling around in it — about artificial intelligence, about racism, about American aggression on the world stage, about the future of humanity. And rattle and clang they do. And also clunk. The various elements are not well integrated.
The Creator itself eventually tries one’s patience with its incessant demands that you feel for characters and relationships that it hasn’t taken the care to develop.
If The Creator were any more slanted, any more in the tank for the coming AI onslaught, you would think it was produced, written and directed by AI.
A good movie, for me the caracter of Roger was really placed into it, for me is one of the best movies I've ever seen

I genuinely like the visuals, art, photography, etc.
But I give negative marks for it's propaganda opening, and just really bad writing overall, there is a hint of racism throughout by "US main characters" which would lead me to believe they're imperialists.
Additionally, "New Asia" is not the enemy, but the territory that won the AI development race.
Fascism must be stopped so it can never rear it's ugly head again.
I feel as if this film should have been an anime in native Japanese rather than a film with bad writing.

It is so rare to see a big movie studio, make an original sci-fi movie with a pretty high budget. With a budget of 80 million dollars, the CGI and visuals look way better than a lot of franchise movies with 200-300 million budgets. The cinematography is stunning, the use of practical effects and sets is awesome, and the world itself is amazingly designed. The biggest problem this movie has is the whole core of it, the story and characters. The story is about another man protecting the child plot but not done as well. It's predictable while also having a lot of questionable or dumb elements. The human characters are all one-dimensional, including the main character. They don't build up the developing relationship between the main character and the kid which makes it difficult to emotionally invest in their struggles. Unfortunately, we have a studio finally taking a risk but not landing. My only hope is that this does not deter them from trying again.

Gareth Edwards continues his quest to show the world some neat images, but fails yet again to provide anything a human could relate to. I imagine young people will enjoy this because there's some cool ideas here, and aesthetically it's a cute film to look at. But unfortunately the best parts of this movie will always be in the audience's imagination than anywhere actually on the screen

This movie has a big issue that i don't think i've seen in the reviews and that is that it feels like a trailer, the movie ended and i felt i watched that just a bad cut of a larger story made it on purpose or because the budget ran out. Is cutting and jumping time too damn frequently, its distracting. The writing is nothing new and the visual effect are very good.
