Red Matter 2 is the perfect sequel to the first chapter from both a narrative and a technical point of view. The performance on Oculus Quest 2 is excellent and the graphics sector is sensational, so much so as to make this title better than many PCVR projects with more hardware resources available. The story proceeds with many more surprises than that of the predecessor and unfolds in different scenarios, presenting some new mechanics at their best. While it proved problematic in specific shooting stages, the gameplay as a whole is rich and offers several hours of fun and wonder for both VR novices and veterans alike. If you have played the progenitor of the series, know that this sequel may surprise you, thanks to a dystopian sci-fi universe at times surprising.
Red Matter 2 is a technical wonder. Vertical Robot have raised, with this second part, a bar that they had already established with their previous game. It is a graphic top that dynamites the supposed limits of the standalone console and that should be a wake-up call for other developers. But its benefits do not stop there. Red Matter 2 is an excellent retro-futuristic adventure packed with puzzles, platforming, and action. Essential.
Just wow, as good as "Vertigo Remastered", I'd say it's the "Half Life Alyx" on Quest 2
PROS: Hard to believe it's not a PCVR game because of the breathtaking graphics and environment + Fabulous puzzles + Hands collision with environment + Great music + Jetpack idea + Shooting in combat + Very good arms fit + Perfect liquid movement in bottles + Real paper movement, etc, etc
CONS: none i could say

Red Matter 2 is the new technical standard in VR game development on Meta Quest 2. Puzzles are engaging and never frustrating, dialogues are well acted; very much welcome the addition of action phases. Too bad about the movement system, on which there are some problems.
Overall, Red Matter 2 is a great sequel that builds on the strengths of the first entry and further improves upon the visuals and gameplay. It simply looks and runs phenomenal on the Quest 2, with mostly captivating puzzles and an interesting mystery to solve at its core. It's not perfect and still exhibits some bugs, and I probably could've done without the shooting sections, but that's a small price to pay when the rest come together as well as this. If you own a quest, this is a six-hour adventure you don't want to miss.
Red Matter 2 brings best-in-class graphics and interactions to Quest 2, a welcomed entry amidst a largely arcade-focused library—and stands as a solid PC VR title in its own right. Mostly good puzzling gameplay is mixed with a light helping of not-so-good combat, set against a backdrop of a 'radio play' plot that's not particularly engaging. With a stellar attention to graphical detail and direction, both large & small, and a richly interactive world, Red Matter 2 excels in the immersion department in a way that few VR games do. While effectively channeling titles like Lone Echo and Half-Life: Alyx, it doesn't quite reach that mark, but for a small team and a reasonable $30 price tag it's an impressive feat—especially considering the computational limitations of Quest 2.
Red Matter 2 is one of VR’s finest adventures yet. With an intriguing mystery, impressive graphics, and intuitive design, Vertical Robot’s sequel pushes the Meta Quest 2 to its limits to nearly match the PCVR experience.
Red Matter 2 is a Scrifi-Adventure, in which you are walking around different locations and solve puzzles. That's it. It*s a walking simulator in VR. Such games were nice in the first years of VR. But in the year 2023 it's only boring, because it's the same of the very much same. The graphics may be outstanding for the limited Quest 2. But for PCVR it's nothing special and the gameplay is the same. For PCVR Half-Life Alyx or Vertigo 2 are much better, which I highly suggest: puzzling, interaction AND action (shooting)!
This game is complete garbage! Several times I've walked around for way too long looking for a puzzle item, only to find out by watching walkthroughs that they never "appeared". Completely unacceptable for a game like this
