Forza Motorsport is one of the best accessible surprises in 2023. Turn 10 Studios’ dedication to disabled players is tangible as soon as one starts the game. It’s beyond refreshing to finally have a racing title that physically disabled individuals can confidently purchase knowing they will be able to successfully complete every race. And as the industry continues to acquire new accessibility knowledge and improve upon itself, Forza Motorsport should be viewed as the beginning of a new accessibility era.
After many years Forza Motorsport returns triumphantly, offering a truly great driving model, huge selection of cars and beautiful visuals. Nevertheless, there are some small technical kinks present and a slight shortage of racing tracks, issues that will most probably be ironed out in the next months.
Forza Motorsport 8 is an exhilarating racing experience that seamlessly combines stunning visuals with realistic gameplay.
The attention to detail in car design and track environments is truly impressive, immersing players in a lifelike racing world.
The diverse range of cars and customization options adds depth to the game, catering to both casual and hardcore racing enthusiasts.
The intuitive controls make it accessible for players of all skill levels, while the dynamic weather effects and day-night cycles contribute to a dynamic and immersive racing experience. Forza Motorsport 8 successfully raises the bar for realistic racing simulations, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.
Forza Motorsport is terrific, an enviable sim racer that looks and sounds incredibly impressive and has loads of cars to master. It has some foibles but there's real depth to be explored here, and its time-of-day wizardry is a superb asset.
With this Forza Motorsport 2023 edition, Turn 10 resets the counters and delivers a car racing game with a titanium chassis capable of carrying the license for several years. Beautiful, fluid, offering very good "simcade" driving sensations, it offers the right modes with the necessary parameters to satisfy almost everyone. Both ultra permissive (in its challenge) and restrictive (in the improvements to be unlocked), this reboot is a bit of a search. Aiming at a very wide audience thanks to its numerous options, it is nonetheless dedicated to fans of pretty cars, those who are able to go beyond its definitively austere appearance (and the absence of urban circuits) to let themselves be captivated by the joys of motorized competition, both solo and online. Nice job.
After six long years, Forza Motorsport is off the lift and back in our lives. It looks great, feels great, sounds great, and it’s brought with it the most impressive multiplayer we’ve seen in the series so far. With 500 cars and 20 track locations it’s hardly a small start but, now positioned as a platform, Forza Motorsport has the potential to expand into a seriously rich racing destination over the coming years. If Flight Simulator on four wheels is the plan, I’m here for it. First on the list of improvements Turn 10 should focus on is revamping the new RPG-inspired upgrade system that turns progression into an unnecessarily long road ahead of each individual car, and maybe bringing back the joys of split-screen multiplayer racing to complement the excellent online modes.
I’m not sure I’ve ever played a racing game that feels better than Forza Motorsport. Whether you’re controlling the fastest car in the game or the slowest, it’s compelling to push each vehicle to its limits and keep finding ways to improve your ride. I wish the experience around this core gameplay found more ways to create a compelling journey, but fans of the genre are mainly coming for the racing itself, and they’ll find everything they need in Forza Motorsport.
I'm absolutely sure that with a few extra doses of content, this could be a dream game for racing fans. As it stands, I'm sadly just missing a bit more gameplay here to hold it all together.
Men o men. For all the efforts made to discredit the spectacle, and realism that this game offers, it can’t undo the amount of time I’ve put into it. Those it has its problems? Yes! But is there a triple A game that didn’t this year? Is that an excuse? Heck no! Its problems never get in the way of this amazing experiences. It’s only gonna get better.
Should have been delayed for a few months longer.
The game clearly isn't ready and now its been released they now need to focus on new content aswell as fixing its countless issues. Microsoft are trying to push Xbox on PC but the game was barely playable at launch and still needs allot of optimization.
The tuning system is really killing this game. Its great that T10 wanted to try something new but it doesn't work the way they intended. Every car progresses the same and you unlock the same parts at the same time. Its not to bad in builders cup but cars outside of this really have no way to progress other then custom race and rivals. But there is only so many times you can spend 2-3 hours doing this for every car before it gets extremely tedious. Not to mention car points are the worst thing I have seen in a racing game. If I have a part I should be able to purchase and use it. Why have I got to remove something else to equip that part? Like when you unlock tyres you need to remove every single thing to equip them? The game just doesn't have enough variety in content to make this system bearable.
Speaking of lack of content this game hasn't got several massively popular features that made Forza stand out. No drag races, drift rivals, public multiplayer (You do get featured multiplayer) and other stuff isn't here. I know its coming soon but with the amount of bugs in this game we could be waiting 6 - 12 months for this. This has definitely killed a huge chunk of players and allot won't be coming back. Surely they learned from Halo Infinite having no content at launch and several bugs.
The featured multiplayer is good but the new penalty system just doesn't work very well. At the start of the game is your typical destruction derby and this is still an issue in the top safety ratings. But cars don't get penalties for this? Its like at the start of a race you get a free smash pass. This basically makes safety ratings useless because its at the start where the system needs to be at its best because later on in the race people are more spaced out.
Builders cup is also quite fun. I don't mind progressing cars in this game mode and its about the only way the car level system isn't that annoying. The AI in this game is actually pretty good compared to most other racing games. Bearing in mind the first few cars do get a bit ahead of them selves. Hopefully they can make it a bit more realistic and make the AI more together instead of having multiple races inside 1.
The new improvements to the car mechanics are definitely a noticeable improvement over FM7. They feel so much more comfortable and cornering feels buttery smooth.
Summary. I really wanted Forza to be that racing game that really stands out against the crowed. But I feel really disappointed by the games extremely limited variety of content that Forza has been known for. The car leveling clearly doesn't work when there isn't many different ways to level cars up limiting you to progress every car the same way. With each car taking a few hours this makes the game tedious and frustrating. Car points restricting the cars progression as unlocking parts and having to remove half your parts to fit 1 doesn't make a lot of sense. With the several issues that need to be addressed in this game its worrying that we won't get any full fledged updates until these are fixed leaving Forza fans with not much to enjoy.
This game is not finished and should have been delayed.
Graphically I'd say this game is worse looking than Horizon 5, which is really saying something since this came out 3 years after that game. For a "racing simulator" this game really does not feel like you're going fast at all, for me that's like the one fun thing about racing games so without that this game is not worth the time or money. Hope this helps
