Stanley Kubrick's wicked sendup of the then-burgeoning military-industrial complex is still lacerating today. Which is better, George C. Scott's bull-like portrayal of Gen. Buck Turgidson ("Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed") or the Peter Sellers trifecta of Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake, Dr. Strangelove and President Merkin Muffley? No other movie has so masterfully conveyed the folly of nuclear warfare, or poked such savage fun at a military that wages it. Stanley Kubrick's coal-black comedy has a timeless quality that will probably extend beyond disarmament. [6 Aug 1995, p.2B]

for me, probably the best of Stanley Kubrick`s work (apart from moon landing, but that one was more of a pure comedy i guess); here Kubrick delivered sarcasm and satire at its best, can watch it any years any time - its still that good.
Politics and politicians... Politics and politicians, as wars, never change.

Definitely one of the best satires of all time. The acting performances from Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, and Peter Sellers really stand out in the movie. People who prefer dramas to comedies will also enjoy the movie.

Is Dr. Strangelove Kubrick's best movie? Along with ''Paths of Glory," absolutely.
The film is a model of barely controlled hysteria in which the absurdity of hypermasculine Cold War posturing becomes devastatingly funny--and at the same time nightmarishly frightening in its accuracy.
After suffering through two screenings of Dr. Strangelove, I would sooner drink hemlock.... To me, Dr. Strangelove is an evil thing about an evil thing; you will have to make up your own mind about it.
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb is just the best black comedy I've seen. One of Stanley Kubrick's best movies. After watching it, you begin to regret that after this film Kubrick went to make films on serious topics. Beautiful adaptation of the Cold War. A great comedy that makes fun of the meaninglessness of the confrontation of 2 superpowers. The film was shot more than 50 years ago, and is still relevant.

Taking a look back at some of Kubrick's earlier looks I noticed that I didn't love this movie. I really wanted to love this movie, but it did kind of disappointed me. Here's the thing, the movie looks great on a technical level, Peter Sellars and George C. Scott are great in the movie, some of the war scenes looked really amazing, and it's funny at parts. However, I wasn't interested the rest of the characters aside from Sellars multiple performances and Scott's performance. I wasn't that too invested in the story until about halfway through. And there were parts that I simply did not laugh at. The movie, to me, only felt like it was suppose to be a comedy at parts. The rest felt to me that it was suppose to be drama. I guess the structure didn't feel like a true comedy to me. But like I said, the second half is what ultimately drew me into the story. I know lots of people love this political comedy, but personally it didn't work to its full benefit like I hoped it would. Overall, even with its lack in structure, the movie slowly builds to become more engaging the further you get into it even if it feels too late. I'll give "Dr. Strangelove" a B-!

Overrated!
Dr. Strangelove is once again an very overrated movie from the old cinema era. They just talk and talk and its not even funny. Very bad acting, angles, and directing. One of the most boring films ever created, another trash film that gets carried by nostalgia.
