Persona 5 Royal allows players to experience the story they already love in a new way without losing any of the beauty from the original game. New and old characters get their chance to shine through and steal your heart, even the ones you never expected to. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and maybe you’ll even feel a sense of justice for the infamous Phantom Thieves in the end. But one thing you won’t feel is regret in picking up Persona 5 Royal, as it’s truly the best Persona title, if not one of the best video games, I’ve ever experienced to date.
The original Persona 5 was already a joy to play; however, this version definitely steps up to the plate and knocks it out of the park. If Persona 5 was a perfectly executed and baked sponge cake, Persona 5 Royal is the same perfect sponge cake... but now filled with lashings of jam and cream. Everything that has been added has been amazingly well implemented. This is a wonderful title, regardless of whether or not it is compared to the original… which is still a delectable sponge cake! The story, characters, music, gameplay, and animation - everything comes together and creates an experience that is the personification of JRPG perfection. Incredibly unique and enjoyable!
Intro:
The intro of the game really starts off as unique and interactive. It really about to show what world you are about to enter in without spoiling anything. From the beginning it is up to you to pick up the pieces.
Guide:
You will need a guide or schedule in order to follow through a perfect route in the game. I am not a person in my life of gaming that ever even need a guide. I wing my choices. But this game will make you read a guide the first time in your life. Be warned you will need a schedule or you will be in danger later on in the story. Take the "TAKE YOUR TIME" Quote serious. I mess around alot but. I AM NOT KIDDING!
Story:
I like how the story makes you feel alone at first, until eventually you start to form relationships and bonds with the people you meet, and start to understand them on a deeper meaning and level. Even to the point of friendship will even lead to them to sacrificing themselves for you and much more. But I will leave that for you
Romance:
Depending on the large variety of women you can pick on who steals your heart. You will come to realize who you relate to or like and you will have moments that make you question a true relationship and love. Really find that most developers **** at how relationships are to video games, but I never seen anyone pull off you forming them in an entire process perfectly. It is completely your choice. Never expect this game to meet what I would call a slice of life **** perfectly.
Guns:
Relax all the guns you use are fake. If you play your cards right you can customize your weapons to fit your play style.
Money/Prepare:
When I say money matters most in society, it really does. Equipment, Food, Dates, entertainment, you will need alot of money for all of them. If you think I am being funny I am not. Money is what makes the world go round and is the process for you to get the points and Equipment to get stronger. It's not cheap. The money in this game displays the realistic reality on why money is important. It gets it so perfectly you start to question your life and a video game.
Why a 10:
This game earned it from the voice acting, comedy, traumatic experiences, and the view of their society in general. It really makes you feel like you are a group of kids against an unfair world. It displays it all perfectly to the point you find it hard to skip anything about the game. The art is so unique and different. It really represents itself as its own game and cannot wait to see more of this franchise.
10/10
Persona 5 Royal is a stunning game that takes something which has already captured millions of hearts and makes it even better. This is the quintessential Persona experience. If you're new to the franchise, this game is for you. If you're a seasoned veteran, there is enough new and improved content that this game is still for you.
Persona 5 is certainly not a light endeavour, and Royal’s new additions understandably won’t be enough for everybody to want to go through it again, but for those considering reuniting with the Phantom Thieves, or completely new to the title, Persona 5 Royal is a perfect opportunity and an incredibly rewarding usage of time. Persona 5 already made an incredible mark when it released, and Persona 5 Royal just adds to Atlus’ richly deserved reputation among RPGamers.
It was just another quintessential Persona experience: a wildly, wonderfully fun story-driven game with a story that fails to live up to its own potential and fundamentally misunderstands the core of their own characters. Atlus both made the most of and absolutely squandered the chance to improve upon Persona 5—and honestly? I don’t know what I was expecting.
Persona 5 Royal to XB1X (I also bought P5 Original on PS4 Pro) is a an extremely well put together and very long game. It’s a slow burn and little bits and pieces make up the monstrous whole, so when you get to the end, it’s ready or not here we come big bad boss!!! I’ve stated this game multiple times due to having it on different systems and getting the Royal version which is the best version of it. That’s the one I wanted to play and beat. As mentioned the game is very long. So having that speed up feature for the text and in battle is highly appreciated. More turn based RPG’s need to have that and I’m always pleased when I find out they do. It’s good when you feel your time is being respected. On top of that it’s great when you know you don’t need to play a Rom and Emulator to be able to speed up your game a bit. So as stated it’s always a welcomed feature. There are little things you can miss if your not paying attention. The constant going back and forth between the supernatural world and your normal world and school life and spending time with friends is something I can honestly say I’m not fond of. This is where my appreciation for Shin Magami Tensei V comes in where it was just battling and combat most of the time and not going to school and eating out at restaurants and all that nonsense that can seem like a waste of time. I’m an RPG man through and through and when an RPG feed as though it’s doing too much to pad it out or make it longer by not allowing you to fight and level up I can feel that and I don’t too much care for it. It’s all apart of the big picture though. The big annoying picture. I finally beat it which I can say I never want to play another Persona game again. The music was awesome and I get what they were trying to do and say, but it’s not my style of RPG. They have a tactical Persona 5 game coming out in the future I may look into because I love my tactical RPG’s which will bring me to my next review. I give Persona 5 Royal an 7/10. It felt stretched out and linear. It wasn’t a open as I’d like and there were little to no choice on the matter. I had fun but it’s not my kind of RPG. Anyway I hope you liked my honest review on the game. Peace and happy gaming to all.
This game might not be for me. It has longest tutorial I have ever seen. After about 30h the game is still telling me what to do. I dig the high school sim style, making connection to people and organizing my time but then comes the palaces and those goofy opponents and boring fights. It was a nightmare.
